My Personal Skincare Routine

My skincare routine has been many many months in the making and I am currently very happy as to how my skin is reacting in such a positive way. However, skincare is something that is forever evolving which can be due to the seasons of our lives, illnesses or something as simple as the changes in weather.
Tips:
1. When introducing any new product to your skin begin SLOWLY. Never ever rush into using something before doing a patch test in a non-conspicuous place. I find the best place to test is under the jaw line. This is a sensitive enough area for you to recognize if you have any allergy or sensitivity issue to the product but also hidden enough so as not to be embarrassed if you do.
2. Even if it appears that you are not allergic to the product remember to still take it very slowly as to how often you apply. On rare occasions, even though you tested perfectly fine using a certain item (i.e Retin A) overuse can cause a nightmare of horrible side effects which can last for weeks.
3. Remember that skin along with hormones change on a regular basis....therefore your skins needs will change also. What may work this month may have to be adjusted next month.

My current routine is working wonderfully for my skin with really good results. I have been fortunate enough not to suffer with acne and very very rarely have zits (yes, I know how lucky I am)! But with that said I, like so many have suffered with large pores, clogged pores, blackheads, dry patches and uneven skin tone all of which have been very difficult on some occasions to cure. My large and clogged pores are now practically nonexistent. Blackheads are a thing of the past. I only have one small area at the bridge of my nose that occasionally flares up with a dry skin patch (I am still working on this one) and my uneven skin-tone is becoming more and more 'even' with each month that passes.
I am going to start with my PM routine as I find this to be the most important.
PM Skincare Routine
1. Vaseline Intensive Care Dry Skin Lotion (the one with the pump dispenser). I use this to remove all makeup (this includes foundation, mascara etc.). Walmart have an equivalent in their Equate brand for a fraction of the price.
2. If I have used a physical sunscreen under my makeup I then follow the above with DHC Deep Cleansing Oil (see link below)
3. If no physical sunscreen has been used I follow #1 CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser (again Equate sell a version for a fraction of the cost).
4. Thayers alcohol free Witch Hazel. I find this removes any residue left by the above products and is completely non irritating.
I then leave my skin for at least 30 minutes befor applying the following:                                                          5. Retin A 0.05% Cream to my face*(see note below), neck and decollage.
6. Tazorac 0.05% Gel to my nose (this has been the one and only product that has rid this area of blackheads along with reducing pore size). I also apply this to my hands (remember that hands always give away our age so this is very important).
7. Careprost to lash line.
*I alternate every other night the Retin A on my face for Alpha Hydrox AHA 12% Souffle. On the AHA nights I use a Glycolic Acid Facial Cleanser (see link below).
AM
I cleanse with CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser with my Clarisonic. This gives my skin a smooth surface should there be any flaking from the Retin a or AHA's ready for makeup.
